When we grow up, we like to shape us a picture of how the world is and cling to this image as much as we can. Why? Because we feel safer in a world that works for us. And no matter what others come with, or if we discover something new, and how convincing it may be, we do not welcome what turns our safe world upside down.
But once we have learned to open our hearts and live more in line with our intuition and gut feeling, we have also become more open to change. We do not fear change as much. We do not have to cling to the world outside of us because our anchor is now within us, in our heart where we have found security.
I had to think of this when a colleague told me, he had an electrician on a visit asking for over USD700, – to install a network cable. A job that took less than two hours. Apparently, the electrician behaved like these were regular prices.
Not only had the electrician lost contact with his internal guidance. He apparently thought that since there were no rules for what you can trick a customer with, it’s okay to just try. Fortunately, my colleague has his internal guidance in place and put his foot down. The electrician has now lost a customer and more potential customers of course.
