We all tend to ignore evidence…

We all tend to ignore evidence that goes against what we choose to believe.
We all tend to ignore evidence that goes against what we choose to believe.

When we grow up, we like to shape us a picture of how the world is and cling to this image as much as we can. Why? Because we feel safer in a world that works for us. And no matter what others come with, or if we discover something new, and how convincing it may be, we do not welcome what turns our safe world upside down.

But once we have learned to open our hearts and live more in line with our intuition and gut feeling, we have also become more open to change. We do not fear change as much. We do not have to cling to the world outside of us because our anchor is now within us, in our heart where we have found security.

The human psyche…

The human psyche is a strange creation. We believe that the known is always preferable to the unknown, even if the known sucks.

What is known feels safe. Even when we’re sick we can become so comfortable with the uncomfortable that we do not want to do anything new and unknown to make us well again.
