Sample meditation from a Course in Transformational Meditation

This is a sample from a live recording from a guided meditation in Second Life. The meditation is one of the meditations that we’ll do at the end of the workshop in Transformational Meditation.

We have had some technical issues the last months recording Seb’s sessions in Second Life, but now we are back. This is a recording of the guided meditation Seb did the 6th of December after talking about how our conformistic filter shapes our reality. It is a live voice lead guided meditation. Since it was recorded live Seb’s voice might sound a little dull due to the microphone he had to use. 

Bodyscan

In the same way as other forms of meditation, a body scan can be used to practice attention. A bodyscan changes between a wide and narrow focus of attention; from focusing on your little toe to the whole body.You can start the exercise by lying on the floor, or bed.

Start by focusing your attention on top of your head and then moving down the body, or the other way around. It’s good idea to start with a guided practice like this one to get a sense of how to move your attention up or down the body.

SecondLife Midweek meditation 1

Seb has been invited to use the social interactive platform called SecondLife for doing a weekly meditation session for one of the virtual health clinics there. We will record these sessions in audio and edit them for the visitor’s privacy reasons before sharing them with you here online on our website. 

The first session was a quick and dirty introduction to meditation followed by a 20 minute session with guidance and music. 

Next week Seb will focus on heart-brain coherence so stay tuned and enjoy this first session.

Meditation for the Water

Without water, there is no life on earth. Water is essential, not just for human life but all life. Water is needed for drinking, cleaning, washing, and making crops grow. There is no substitute for this precious resource, and yet we waste it, we pollute it, and we even commodify it! Let’s start anew, and begin by thanking for and sending our best intentions to the gift that is water.

Heart Focused Meditation

This meditation is based on techniques developed by the HeartMath Institute. An institute conducting research on the role of electromagnetic fields in our communication, intuition, physiology, neurology and our physical and mental health. The techniques we use in this meditation are used to build resilience, especially when dealing with stress, and are used daily in private companies, police forces, fire departments, the military, healthcare and schools.

Pain Management

The intention behind this meditation is not to remove pain but to deal with pain in another way. This is done by actively changing the feelings and thoughts the pain gives. Repeating the meditation daily will cause the pain to cause less discomfort than before. If you do this meditation long enough you will that the pain has faded away. This meditation can also be used when experiencing mental pain. Like sorrow for example.

One can use this meditation also for non-chronic pain. In particular pain in muscles and joints that are stress-related. In general, many relaxation techniques will work against stress-related pain.

Anxiety

Anxiety is a form of stress. Science has shown that anxiety is good in order to avoid getting into life-threatening situations but anxiety can be harmful when it exists as a frequent recurring response to the non-life-threatening everyday environment around you.
